Orange wedding dress in the Australian bush

Orange wedding dress, Australia

It’s hard to describe the Australian bush to those who have never seen it. It’s raw, dusty, barren. At once fragile but strong and striking. Bush colours can be stunning, the contrasts are the most amazing I’ve ever seen.

To choose it as the backdrop to your wedding is a statement. One that presents most brides with a challenge. The usual style of wedding dress would jar with the bush landscape.

Wedding in the Australian bush

When Kirsty married Matt at Tathra on the far south east coast of Australia, she made a genius choice of dress. Her orange dress by Perth-based Aurelio Costrella was the perfect foil for the bush.

One of my lasting memories of the bush is of bush fires where land is purposely burnt back, so to me this mesmerising flame of a dress and its dramatic movement is so apt.
